That’s what happened to me recently when I was reading “I’m the Max-Level Newbie”, a popular Korean webtoon. I was so into the story, so I was shocked and frustrated when I couldn’t access the new chapters anymore. In this blog post, I’ll explain why my favorite webtoon stopped translating and how I’m dealing with the disappointment.

Webtoon suddenly stopped translating my favorite comic

I was devastated when I recently discovered that Webtoon had suddenly stopped translating my favorite comic. It had been one of my go-to reads for years and I had faithfully followed it through all its arcs and storylines. I was just as excited to see what would happen next as the creator of the comic!

I'm the Max-Level Newbie

It was a shock to find out that they had suddenly decided to stop translating it. I didn’t understand why they had made this decision, but I was now left without any way to follow the story. The only option left to me was to read the raws, which I was unable to do since I was a max-level newbie at the language.
It was heartbreaking for me to not be able to continue reading this comic, and I was desperate to find a way to get back into it. I was determined to figure out why Webtoon had stopped translating it and find a way to keep up with the story.

Why did this happen?

It’s difficult to say for certain why Webtoon suddenly stopped translating my favorite comic, but the most likely reason is that the author of the comic chose to focus on the original Korean version. This isn’t uncommon in the world of webcomics; in many cases, the authors will prioritize their native language and not continue with translations. It can be frustrating for English readers who have come to enjoy the comic and become invested in its characters, but there’s not much that can be done in these cases. The artist is always free to change their mind and resume translations, but they are under no obligation to do so.
