The popular otome puzzle game Stand My Heroes by Coly is set to receive a stage play adaptation in September 2025. The performance will be held at Tokyo’s Theater Sun-Mall. This exciting news was announced during the game’s eighth-anniversary event on September 29, 2024, at Nakano ZERO main hall, and the official website for the stage play went live the same day.
Stand My Heroes first launched in Japan in September 2016, following the work of the “STand Alone National Department,” an independent investigative unit that tackles unsolved cases related to illegal drugs. The game’s storyline has captured the interest of many, leading to this stage adaptation.
Junya Nomoto, known for directing the upcoming Ascendance of a Bookworm musical, will direct the play, with Naohiro Ise, writer of the Tokyo Revengers stage play, penning the script. Casting details are expected to be revealed at a later date.
The Stand My Heroes: Piece of Truth anime adaptation aired from October to December 2019 with 12 episodes, followed by an OVA titled Stand My Heroes: Warmth of Memories, released in May 2023. Both the TV series and the OVA are available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
Crunchyroll describes the anime’s story as follows: New recruit Rei Izumi joins the narcotics investigation unit of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. As a scout for the newly established STAND, she is tasked with assembling a unique team of agents, investigators, and informants to combat a dangerous drug wreaking havoc on Tokyo’s citizens.
